NEW for 2010, there is a social networking site which everyone can use during the 12 hour event.

The number of interactives increased, the type and length of presentations increased and much more.But we also wanted our non-interactives and live stream participants to have an active role. A collaboration site has been set up at http://social.megaconferencejr.org. The site was built using an open source program called Elgg. It contains many of the common social networking features like blogs, discussions, wiki's, even a twitter like feed called the wire. But, unlike social networking sites, everyone who signs up to join the site needs to register with us first. This will provide a safer, more controlled environment.

In order to create an account on this site, please go to the following web page and fill out this form:

You will receive an email once your account has been created with directions on how to access the site. Once you have these instructions you can log-in to the site.

Once you have logged in, click on "Settings" along the top menu bar and change your password to something you are more familiar with. Be sure to click save at the bottom in order to save your information. Please click on "Tour the Elgg platform" at the bottom of the screen below the Spotlight heading for a quick overview of how to use the tools on the site. If you don't see any items look to the right of the Spotlight heading and click on the + sign to open that segment.
